ABOUT COVID-19

What is COVID-19

The COVID-19 is a communicable respiratory disease.
This disease is caused by a new strain of corona-virus and was first discovered in China towards the end of 2019. The novel corona-virus causes illness in humans and typically attacks the lungs and airways in most cases. Since December 2019, COVID-19 has spread too many other parts of the world and has been categorized by the World Health Organization as a global pandemic.
Being a new type of disease, scientists are still studying a lot about COVID-19 and currently, there are no drugs or vaccines to treat or prevent this infection. The best we can do as humans, for the moment, is to ensure social distancing and maintain proper hygiene and cleaning to reduce the spread of the disease.

Most common symptoms of COVID-19 includes:

High
Fever

Heavy
Tiredness

Dry
cough

Other less common symptoms include sore throat, headache, aches and pains, diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, loss of taste and smell, skin rash, discoloration of toes and fingers, etc.

FAQs about Anti-Coronavirus/COVID-19 Cleaning

Here are some answers to questions we’ve been getting about cleaning services related to the prevention of COVID-19.

Do you have a different procedure for cleaning a facility that has been exposed to COVID-19 vs one that just wants to take preventative measures?

Yes–our protocol for cleaning a facility where a COVID-19 infection has been confirmed is quite extensive, and involves full bio-hazard cleaning procedures. These additional procedures are mostly for the protection of our employees. For example, when working in this situation, they wear full PPE gear, work in teams of three to monitor each other, and dispose of used cleaning products in specific ways.

What cleaning products are effective against COVID-19?

Because the virus is so new, the EPA has not tested and established efficacy protocols or inactivation claims. In layman’s terms, that means that nobody can say with 100% certainty that a particular cleaning product is effective against COVID-19–and anyone who makes such a claim at this point is not being truthful.

That being said, the EPA has issued “Guidance to registrants: process for making claims against emerging viral pathogens not on EPA-registered disinfectant labels,” which at this time establishes approved products. An eligible product must meet the criteria in the document in order to make limited claims about disinfectant efficacy.

How to Stop the Spread of COVD19

COVID-19 is transmitted either through contact with an infected person or contact with contaminated surfaces with the virus on them. For example, it could be transmitted via respiratory droplets in the air through coughing or sneezing. Touching one’s eyes, nose, or mouth with coronavirus-contaminated hands can also cause infection.

But how can we stop the spread of COVID despite the lack of a drug or vaccine to that effect?

Here are a few guidelines for individuals, households, businesses, and more;

  1. Wash your hands often with soap and running water or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content.
  2. Do away with touching your eyes, mouth, and nose.
  3. Encourage employees to stay back home if they feel unwell, stay back home. If they would visit the doctor’s office, they should also call ahead to know if and when they should come.
  4. Avoid close contact with others and stay away from crowded places. The CDC recommends at least six feet from the next person as part of the social distancing guidelines.
  5. Clean frequently touched surfaces and areas daily with disinfectants or hire professional cleaning services to help with cleaning and disinfection of your homes and offices.
  6. Provide antiseptic wipes for employees in the workplace to make cleaning easier
  7. The CDC recommends wearing face coverings in public to reduce transmission regardless of whether or not you’re infected.

Follow public health guidelines in your state and local council especially as it relates to movement, business opening, etc

We are qualified and equipped with the required training and protocols to clean any facility affected by a pathogen outbreak. In fact, we are prepared to clean operating rooms at hospitals in the region along with medical clinics and doctor’s offices.

PREPARING TO REOPEN AFTER COVID-19?

We are COVID 19 Prepared® and Ready
to Respond

What are Coronavirus?

About Coronavirus

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to respond to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a new coronavirus that was first detected in China and has now spread internationally. While the virus is termed coronavirus, the sickness that results after infection has been termed COVID-19.

COVID-19 has now been declared a pandemic, which is a global outbreak of a disease.

Stop COVID 19

Cleaning and disinfection plans can be a critical part of minimizing the spread of the influenza virus during an outbreak. The plan should outline areas to be cleaned/disinfected, frequency of cleaning, materials to be used and any material-specific cleaning procedures and techniques. Training should be provided to all staff. (employed or contracted) involved. These cleaning procedures/requirements should be clearly documented and understood in any agreements developed.

The use of proper materials, techniques and clear cleaning plans can support a facility’s influenza outbreak-response efforts.

Workplace Tips

Employers operating workplaces during the COVID-19 pandemic should continue routine cleaning and other housekeeping practices in any facilities that remain open to workers or others.

Employers who need to clean and disinfect environments potentially contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 should use EPA-registered disinfectants with label claims to be effective against SARS-CoV-2.

Routine cleaning and disinfection procedures (e.g., using cleaners and water to pre-clean surfaces before applying an EPA-registered disinfectant to frequently touched surfaces or objects for appropriate contact times as indicated on the product’s label) are appropriate for SARS-CoV-2, including in patient care areas in healthcare settings in which aerosol-generating procedures are performed.

Efficient and thorough! The cleaner was a bit late, but he called to warn us in advance, and he managed to finish the job within the planned time. All the carpets were cleaned up to the promised standard.
